‘Run In Her Shoes’ is a quest to share light with young mothers on the Sunshine Coast.
There have been times in our lives that we’ve felt deep darkness and hopelessness. Many are fortunate to have wonderful friends and family that shared their light and love and helped guide us back into the light.
But for some women and mothers, reaching out to someone close may not be possible. So now it’s our turn to support others. Together, a group of four women from Mapleton, Lacey, Acacia, Jade and Helen, will do continuous laps of a 3.5km obstacle course in the dark!
“Our goal is to finish approximately 200km during the night and raise $4000 to make positive changes in the lives of women right here on the Sunshine Coast,” shared Acacia.
All funds raised will be donated to Lily House – a wonderful organisation that supports mothers and women in crisis.
Lacey said, “This undertaking is about confidently going forwards into the dark together and fighting our way constantly forwards until we see the sky change colour and celebrate together as the new day dawns.”
Jade continued, “We can do far more than we realise, yet at the times where even taking the next step seems impossible, it is the stories of strength and courage through hardships faced that give us the confidence to carry on.”
“While we know this task will be a challenge for us all,” admitted Helen, “we are committed to our goal of bringing light to other women as we bravely face the dark together.”
