The Blackall Range Lions Club is now officially here for residents of the Montville, Flaxton and Mapleton communities. Since the Lions Community information night in February 2019, the news was received from Lions Clubs International that The Lions Club of Blackall Range was officially chartered on August 23, 2019 with 33 charter members.

The Charter Night Dinner was held in November at the Flaxton Gardens Restaurant in Flaxton, and this enthusiastic group has gotten off to a flying start. Examples include running a fun morning tea to raise funds for childhood cancer research; hosting the 2019 Welcome to the Hinterland Dinner; publishing the 2020 Blackall Range Lions Calendar; refurbishing the Montville State School Historic Bell Tower and much more!

Peter Jensen, marketing and communications chairperson for the Blackall Range Lions Club said, “A big ‘thank you’ to the Maleny Blackall Range Lions and to all our local supporters who have helped us along the way. Our motto is ‘Where There is a Need, There Should be a Lion’ and we are now open for business in our communities.”
