Maleny Souvlaki Hut

Mar 7, 2019 | Business, Food and Dining, Market, Where to Eat

Get your foodie fix at Maleny Lane, smack bang in the centre of the main street of Maleny. There is something for everyone with a range of World Foods including Indian (The Curry Hut), African (Taste of Africa), French (Crepe Suzette), Greek (Jon the Greek), Gourmet Quality Pies (The Maleny Pie Guy), Nepalese (Sherpa Kitchen), and Gourmet Coffees & Teas (Peony Espresso).

There is also live music every weekend and once a month for Night Markets – weather permitting.

This month we bring you the Maleny Souvlaki Hut, which introduces a wide range of Greek food from souvlakis to haloumi, including Greek street food.

Jon the Greek, with his lifetime of experience in Greek and Turkish cuisine, moved to Maleny four years ago, having owned two similar shops in the Brisbane CBD. He promptly opened the Maleny Greek Souvlaki Hut.

The menu is fresh and vibrant, full of true authentic flavour. The lamb and chicken souvlakis are grilled fresh to order and served with homemade tzatziki.

Jon the Greek serves up some delicious fare

The pulled pork wrap is done Greek style using all the Greek flavours, combined with a slow cooked pork, which makes for a juicy, tasty wrap!

The meats are marinated, skewered then BBQ grilled, and only top-quality produce is used. There is also a Greek salad which can be served as a side or as a main meal.

For those with a sweet tooth, there is a range of Greek sweets including the very popular Baklava.

Prices range from $6.50 to $12, and Maleny Greek Souvlaki Hut is open Thursday through Sunday, 10.30am to 3pm.
