Bringing smiles to the Range
Maleny State High School P&C reached out to a local aged care facility in December to see how their students and school might be able to connect with the residents over Christmas.
The school offered to provide each resident with a Christmas card and a P&C member’s family donated 100 Christmas cards to sponsor this cause.
An extraordinary number of students took part and filled out Christmas cards in the school library, which has been transformed into a festive Libraryland Village.
“As a parent and a member of the P&C, it warmed my heart to see our students helping to bridge the gap between kids and residents of aged care, and I’m so proud to say that our students want to continue to do this year after year,” said P&C President, Danielle Watt.
“Our Principal, Deborah Stewart, is such a positive and dedicated leader who has been so supportive of all the students’ projects within the community.
“I have always believed that each of us have the potential to make someone’s day and put a huge smile on their face and that all it takes is one act of kindness, in this case it was a Christmas card.”
