Maleny Makers is a new community group for all ages. It seeks to provide a space for working on technical projects and learning support for those seeking to upskill on a wide range of modern approaches to making things. This includes 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machines, electronics, soldering, computer programming and more.
But Maleny Makers is not just for techies and engineers – the group wants to incubate collaborative efforts that bring together folks with a range of skills to tackle projects that will benefit the wider community.
The Makers recently held their first successful open house where demonstrations of a selection of their projects were on display, including the ‘Compliment Generator’ by Jasper Clark, pictured here with Joshua Polinski.
Makers also has a focus on teaching and supporting beginners. A well-equipped Makerspace is in development and will soon be ready for member access. In the meantime, learn more about upcoming workshops and meetups at malenymakers.org
