Maleny Hair and Beauty celebrates its 20th year in Maleny, as the town’s longest established salon. Owner Victoria Elston, with daughter Katharine and staff, have won an impressive number of ‘Excellence in Service’ business awards over the last five years.
Not surprising, considering the team offer treatments ranging from Dead Sea Salt body exfoliation and deluxe manicures, to hair extensions and tinting with vegan friendly, non-toxic products. Plus, an indulgent pampering package for a bride-to-be and her friends.
While chatting with Victoria at the newly relocated salon in Bunya Street, HT discovered she is also a queen!
“Unbeknown to me, some friends had entered me into Brisbane’s annual fundraising and beauty pageant in 1984 called the Warana Festival,” Victoria revealed.
“I actually won the quest commemorating Brisbane’s 100 years and was crowned Queen Victoria! The prize included an overseas trip for two.”
For the next year of her reign as an ambassador, Victoria worked tirelessly raising funds for the less fortunate.
“My husband Mark and I made the move to Maleny in 1988 after discovering, like many still do, Maleny was the perfect country town with an envious lifestyle to bring up children.”
Victoria explains the salon’s expansion is now able to cater for the towns continuing growth including much needed private car parking access for the business.
“We can’t wait to welcome our customers as friends, so pop in and say hi.”
