Gympie Council will be holding drop-in information sessions about the proposed Mary Valley Rail Trail in Imbil and Brooloo this July. Council welcome those interested to drop-in at any time during each session to find out more and have their say on this exciting project.
The trail will activate a dis-used rail corridor to provide the local community and visitors alike the opportunity to walk, cycle off-road and ride their horses between the two townships.
The proposed trail is approximately 4.5 kilometres one-way and will be suitable for all fitness levels as a great one-way or return experience.
This project is being undertaken by Gympie Regional Council and is fully funded by the State Government’s Works for Queensland program.
Information sessions will be held:
- 19 July – 9.00am – 12.00pm (Brooloo Mary River – Rural Fire Brigade Building, 48 Sutton Street)
- 19 July – 2.00pm – 5.00pm (Imbil Memorial Hall – Mary Valley RSL Sub Branch Building, 127 Lambert Hyne Drive)
During the sessions, residents will have the opportunity to discuss the project, see before and after photographs of similar trails and provide feedback directly to the project team.
If you are unable to attend a drop-in session, you are welcome to have your say on Council’s website from today, 4 July until 12 August 2018 (www.gympie.qld.gov.au/haveyoursay) or alternatively give feedback in writing to:
