Strawberry Fields forever
Along the old Cobb & Co Route, now called Laxton Road, Palmview, you will find the Sunshine Coast Farm and its Strawberry Fields. Run by the Carmichael family since 1980, strawberry picking season begins in June and runs until November.
So, bring the kids, pick a few punnets-worth, and maybe stop for some barista-brewed coffee, strawberry-sweet treats and homemade ice-cream. Admission is free and you pay for what you pick (following current wholesale pricing). Remember, the redder the better!
We love walking
Meet the Friends volunteer guides at the Arts and Ecology Centre for a guided walk of the garden. The Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden includes a variety of attractions along the walks that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.
Take a journey of discovery in Whipbird Village exploring nature and searching for hidden wildlife and artworks in the village located across the lagoon walk. Try balancing on the carved tree trunks or just sit on the timber platforms to enjoy a tranquil morning tea or lunch in the forest. The upper area includes a Sensory Trail that engages touch and smell to demonstrate that the Gardens are not just about what can be seen.
