Students at Montville State School get stuck into gardening

There are $15,000 of gardening grants available for local Sunshine Coast Schools and community groups.

To help combat health issues such as physical inactivity and poor nutrition, Yates will be working with Life Education and Healthy Harold to offer 15 Growing Good Gardens Grants each worth $1,000.

Create a garden space where kids can learn healthy habits and improve their physical and mental well-being!

To apply for the Growing Good Gardens grants 2018, complete the application form on Life Education Australia’s website – lifeeducation.org.au/gardengrants. Applications close June 15, 2018.

Montville State School has an established kitchen garden, but they are always keen to do more.

“I look forward to hearing ideas from the students on how we could extend our well-loved garden, and we certainly need some more child-sized equipment and small watering cans!” said teacher, Mrs Bierton.

All gardens are considered, from sensory to vegetable, herb to flower – and let your imagination soar when thinking of a name for your garden. Good luck!
