Local girl, Shalini Carnevale has been in the Montville area for her entire life. She attended Montville Primary School, then Maleny High School and has owned Shali’s Cafe, Montville for the past 17 years. Shali is very happy to announce she is also the new owner of the former Montville Patisserie and Bakery.
Located next to Shali’s Cafe and renamed Top of the Range Pies, this new shop is baking pies, sausage rolls, pasties, biscuits, cakes and slices, all on the premises. Bread and bread rolls will be available seven days a week.
For those who love their speciality breads, the weekend is the time to visit. Breads such as olive and parmesan, white rye, dark rye with caraway seeds, sweet potato bread and fruit loaf will be available to tantalise the taste buds.
Shali is being trained by her former boss and pie master Terry Healey. He and his wife, Carolyn, ran the bakery in Montville back in the ‘90s and were very well known for their great bread and pies.
There are also unique vegetarian pies, gluten and dairy-free pies and vegan pies, for the growing number of people who are looking for alternatives to meat, dairy and gluten.
Open seven days from 7am to 3.30pm, with outdoor seating if you feel like watching the world go by on the picturesque Main Street.
