Hibiscus Spectacular Woombye – American Beauty by Ted Herbert

On Saturday May 12 between 9am and 1.30pm at the Woombye School of Arts Hall, Blackall Street Woombye, the Sunshine Coast Branch of The Australian Hibiscus Society Inc. will be holding their Annual Spectacular.

Some of the best examples of exotic hibiscus will be competing for the annual honours, and the general public are invited to enter a hibiscus bloom from their garden and have the opportunity to win a prize. Just turn up with your bloom before 11am to enter.

If you have a problem with your hibiscus or if you simply wish to have a bloom identified, an expert will be on hand to advise, plus offer tips on fertilizing, pruning and general care.

It’s time to be dazzled by the hundreds of colourful blooms on show, each one like a beauty pageant entrant waiting to be named Grand Champion.

For those who would like to have a hibiscus plant of their own, over 300 specially prepared plants will be on sale from 9am.
