It’s time for the annual Kenilworth Cheese, Food and Wine Fest on March 31 – celebrating its 10th year! Rediscover the simple pleasure of a day in the country. The whole family will enjoy celebrating Easter Saturday in Kenilworth… “Heart of the Mary Valley”.
Enjoy the spread of award-winning local produce, savour the popular cheeses and wines, the sumptuous sauces, chutneys and jams. Taste fresh seafood, Middle Eastern and Asian fare, tasty wood-fired pizza and famous sourdough breads.
There are 40 fabulous food stalls to choose from! And you can enjoy gourmet cooking demonstrations by Chef Peter Wolfe of Cedar Creek Bushfood Farm at 10.30am and 1.30pm. Peter fuses native bushfood flavours with Asian and European cuisInes.
Get tips on growing bushfoods in your backyard from Veronica at Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery – and don’t forget to try your hand at Queensland’s only Cheese Rolling Contest, open to all ages, all day, an 8.30am start with a $2 entry, and registration from 8am.
For the four-to-seven-year-olds we have the Golden Cheester Egg Hunt, 10am start and $2 entry with registration from 8am at the enclosed children’s play area.
Kids! Bring your decorated hat for the Easter Hat Parade at 11am and see the baby animals at Old Macdonald’s Animal Farm.
Did we mention the fabulous live music with Ruba Tuba? Or the camel rides? Arrive early and have your breakfast in beautiful Kenilworth township park.
Open from 7am to 4pm, entry is free to Kenilworth Park and the Cheese Factory.
