For Marcia, moving to Maleny has completed a circle. She was born and raised a country girl, but found she and husband Chris needed to be where their work took them. As owners of Elders Real Estate at Morayfield, this meant living in a suburban environment.
“We were always drawn to country living,” said Marcia. “Our dream was to live on acreage, growing our own veggies. Now we can. We have the best of both worlds, still running our own business, but living in rural Witta.”
Chris bring a wealth of knowledge to Maleny Mowers. From a mechanical background, he once worked with his brother-in-law who owned a Husqvarna dealership in Ballarat, Victoria.
Being a family-owned and operated business, it is important for them to maintain continuity with existing customers. “We were very pleased to keep Paul Sullivan (head technician) and newly qualified Adam Morris when we took over the business in July,” said Chris.
“These two blokes not only know the equipment from the ground up, they also know the locals. We are committed to giving the best possible customer service we can.”
If a shop full of customers and a constantly ringing phone are anything to go by, this warm friendly couple will settle well into the Hinterland.
