Head Chef Daniel Jarrett and GM Ryan Dillon are thrilled The Tamarind Restaurant has been donned Best Asian Restaurant

The Tamarind Restaurant, Maleny, has won the best Asian Restaurant category at the 2017 QLD and NT Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.

General Manager and Restaurant and Catering Australia (R&CA) member Ryan Dillon said, “This award is great recognition for our dedicated team of chefs headed up by Dan Jarrett, and our amazing front-of-house team.

Tamarind Head Chef, Daniel Jarrett says, “This is a fantastic achievement by all the team, it is also great for the Sunshine Coast region as we have so many quality restaurants in the area and so much amazing local produce to work with.”

More than 450 local restaurants, cafes and catering businesses gathered to celebrate the achievements of their peers who were judged across 38 categories.

The nationally recognised, independently-judged awards are the only ones in Australia where the judging criteria is determined and ranked by consumers.

An independent team of trained judges anonymously visit the venues to determine the winners and scores are based on the entire dining experience, from food to the customer service.

The Tamarind Restaurant may compete with other finalists in Melbourne in October. Congratulations from HT!
