The Hinterland Business Centre has been given the opportunity by the Queensland Department of Employment and Industrial Relations’ Skilling Queenslanders For Work initiative to run another Community Jobs Plan – Work Placement Program. Full time paid employment and training for the duration of the 15 week project is now available to 5 successful applicants.
Prospective applicants, ie. long term unemployed persons and mature aged persons over 45 years of age seeking to re-enter the workforce, are now being sought to participate in either the Administrative/Clerical stream (1 positions) or Agriculture/ Environmental stream (4 positions).
The participants in the Agricultural/Environmental field will gain skills and experience in a diverse work environment, with either Barung Land Care or Sunshine Coast Regional Council, and be involved in nursery management, seed collection and propagation, parks maintenance, revegetation, bush regeneration and landscaping projects.
The participants in the Administrative/Clerical field will acquire the skills and experience to work in a busy and diverse work environment with specific emphasis on the provision of business administrative skills, community service skills and project development and co-ordination activities.
