Performance

Maleny’s Upfront Club presents Tommy Leonard this month – the popular, local troubadour. The self-proclaimed ‘folkie’ whose warm and melodic voice has been heard throughout the south-east Queensland folk music scene since the early 1990s. He is a regular performer at the Woodford Folk Festival and he has written his own songs including Enough is Enough which was used as the title music to an ABC TV documentary -A Life – R. M. Williams.

On Friday July 23 Tommy will sing songs of many causes accompanied with his own brilliant finger-style guitar.

On Saturday July 31 ‘The Flumes’ seamlessly weave the organic tones of the Harp – with solid grooves to create a lushly funky, dark and sparkling, cinematic brew.

Harper Kayt Wallace immerses her innate melodic sense in a 36-string electric harp. Her sultry vocals infuse the combo as fellow musical adventurer Stephan Beattie lays down slippery bass grooves and guitar rhythms. Drummer Damien Jones completes the rhythm section on skins and percussion.
