Performance

There is plenty of warmth in the acts offered by Palmwoods Got The Blue as we enter our coldest month.

On Saturday July 17 Ross Williams, a Sunshine Coast musical icon, takes to the stage. Ross has been playing for many years with long time collaborator Doc Span as both a duo and band. These days Ross is a highly credentialed music educator and the opportunity to welcome his highly skilled fingerpicking to the Palmwoods stage is a rare treat for all. rosswilliams.net

On the same evening the Delta Monarchs are back for another dose of their invigorating roots music to keep the Palmwoods pot on the boil – so rest assured, the place will be jumping. The Monarchs were one of the undisputed highlights at Woodford last year so don’t miss them while you can. www.myspace.com/deltamonarchsmusic

And then the icing on the cake. With Ross Williams already on the bill, the call went out to his longtime musical collaborator Doc Span (above) to put the band back together. And with the good doctor’s agreement, all is in place for a rare reunion of one of the Sunshine Coast’s most celebrated musical partnerships.

Award-winning albums, sold out tours and appearances at all major festivals across Australia marked out Doc and Ross as an duo not to be missed. The chance to see them again after the best part of a decade away is too good to be true. www.myspace.com/docspanband
