Since I wrote last month of headlines of chaos and explosive eruptions, we have witnessed the appalling environmental catastrophe of the oil rig disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Astrologically, this disaster reflects the current stressful configuration of Pluto, Uranus and Saturn. As Jupiter joins Uranus on 8 June, the potential for explosions, eruptions and chaos increases.
This is a major wake-up call for humanity. In metaphysical terms, the external world is a reflection of our inner reality, and the invitation with Jupiter-Uranus is to expand our awareness, particularly of how greed – for oil, money and power – has such a destructive impact on our world. At an individual level, we need to take responsibility for our part in this, and start to use our power in conscious ways that are responsible, constructive and protective.
The New Moon in Gemini on Sat 12 June represents a new departure in the way we communicate and exchange ideas. Gemini is associated with learning, so if you have been thinking about studying or learning a new skill, this is a good time to put your plans into action. This New Moon is exact at 9.14pm.
The Winter Solstice falls on Mon 21 June, as the Sun moves into the sign of Cancer. This is the shortest day of the year (and longest night) in the southern hemisphere from here on, the days will lengthen again as we move towards spring.
The Full Moon in Capricorn on Sat 26 June is a partial lunar eclipse falling right on Pluto and triggering the whole ‘cardinal climax’ pattern. This is likely to be a very emotional time. The Capricorn Full Moon indicates that whatever you have been working towards is now likely to come to fruition, and the eclipse gives this added intensity. If your birthday is close to this date, you are likely to feel these effects very strongly.
