MONTVILLE COFFEE has generously taken naming rights as sponsor for the 2010 Festival of the Walks, photographic competition.

With more than 140 entries in the adult section alone last year, the competition was one of the most popular and high profile aspects of the inaugural festival.

The 2010 festival will start with a gala function at which the photographic competition awards will be announced.

First price in the adult section this year will be $1000. The second prize winner will receive a photography course and an accommodation package. Third prize is lunch for two at Flaxton Gardens restaurant.

In the children’s section first prize is a digital picture frame. Second prize is a family pass to a major local tourist attraction and third prize is an annual subscription to Australian Photography Magazine.

Professional Hinterland photographer, Penny Riddoch (right) will once again organise the competition and be one of the three judges along with Barry Beckham and Andrew Goodall.

Owners of Montville Coffee, Karen and Richard Barnett said they were delighted to sponsor the Great Walks Photography Competition. “We love nothing more than being able to enjoy the beauty of our local trails and sharing them with others. We see this event as another way our business can support the community that we love.

“We have been roasting our award winning coffee in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland for 10 years”, says Karen. “During that time our award-winning blends have attracted the attention of coffee lovers all over the region. “We often receive coffee orders from people who have returned home from a visit to The Blackall Range with a memory of a great coffee enjoyed in a guest house or a local café. They love getting a regular bag of freshly roasted Montville Coffee in the mail,” added Karen Barnett.
