A little bit of this and a little bit of that
You have different channels of energy in your body that connect vital organs and nerve pathways. These channels are called meridians and the way energy flows through them contributes to the smooth functioning of your body.
As different tastes of foods have an influence on different organs and meridians it is wise to include a balanced variety where ever possible.
Sweet herbs and foods influence the spleen and stomach meridians.
Spicy foods and herbs affect the lung and large intestine meridian.
Bitter herbs and foods affect the heart and small intestine meridians.
Salty foods and herbs affect the kidney and bladder meridians Sour foods and herbs act on the liver and gall bladder meridians.
When we excessively stimulate any of the meridian systems because we concentrate only on certain foods we cause the body systems to come out of harmony and sickness results.
Its easy to introduce a balance. When stir frying veggies add a dash of lime, chili, ginger garlic and honey with a dash of Tarmari (Soya Sauce). And if you want to chelate (get rid of ) mercury in your system add a little coriander. Always use the best ingredients and never use cane sugar to sweeten foods, use honey, maple or agave syrup.
