Performance

The highly inventive Linsey Pollak and his sometime percussionist side-kick, Tunji Beier are giving a Sunday morning recital at the Indian-influenced cafe / restaurant ‘Saffron Namaste’ in Pomona at 10am on Sunday March 7. This musically-bonded pair first performed together at the “Border Crossings Festival” in Germany in 1996 and have played together ever since. They create improvisations and compositions that draw on the traditions of Macedonia and South India, their greatest musical influences.

These days Linsey and Tunji call themselves Dva -unique in both instrumentation and output. Pollak invented many of the wind instruments he plays. Beier, meanwhile, plays an array of hand-drums from Africa, India and points in between.

Their Sunday recital will confirm Dva as being at the forefront of Australian creative music. They will play their own unique World Music style.

$10 donation for the performance will be appreciated, and book a table if you want breakfast after 8am Ph: 5485 0554.
