Feng Shui Master: George Bennis

When Jen Roberts and Mick Cutuli recently purchased the much-loved Celtic Tea Rooms in Maleny, they turned to Feng Shui master, George Bennis to assist in revitalkising the business premises and their home.

“When we moved here the energy of the place was quite stagnant and heavy”, Jen said. “The Tearoom deserved to be reinvigorated, so knowing a little bit about energy; I knew that it required a Feng Shui Renovation.“ During the Business Feng Shui assessment a number of issues were identified which could affect the business performance.

The outside of the premises was overgrown, obscuring the tearooms from view, and from receiving Qi. The energy at the entrance was not inviting. I discovered a heavy wooden beam above the entrance that ran between the door and counter. I recommended that the beam be removed as it was creating a block between the entrance, the counter and cash register.

“After the Beam was removed” Jen commented, “the entry become so much lighter and inviting, it gave it much more space”.

The cash register was aligned with the entrance way and water features to receive prosperity.

The Tearoom floor was painted green, which is a Celtic colour. However the Qi coming through the door was classified as ‘earth’. As ‘wood controls earth’ in the five elements, this represented disharmony.

The all-green concrete floor was replaced with beautiful hardwood floorboards, giving an old-fashioned feel. The walls were painted a light cream colour, metal decorations were added and the seats were covered with deep blue cushions and Fire colours were added to the entrance to enhance the fortune star 8.

A Qi activation ceremony was conducted to remove the stagnant energy, revitalise the Qi and to bless the premises.

The ceremony consisted of a blessing of the four directions, and a toast to the “cosmic trinity” of heaven, earth and man. Food from the sky, the land and the sea was prepared as an offering and to represent abundance. Mead was used for the toast instead of the traditional rice wine. After all, this was the Celtic tearoom, not a Chinese restaurant.

“It was a very special ceremony, a beautiful intimateevening with supportive family and friends,” Jen remarked.” People have commented how different the energy feels, and they say they now feel at home when they come here.“

Mick and Jen have done a wonderful job redecorating the old tearooms according to Business Feng Shui principals and have created a warm friendly, inviting restaurant and venue.

“The business has been better than I could have imagined”, said Jen. “We have had contracts go well, we won an overseas holiday, and we have had full houses all within 10 weeks of opening.”
