MARCELLE HOLDAWAY is a social auditor who is off to the UK this month to run a workshop at an international conference – ‘Accounting, measuring and reporting – how does it all add up?
Marcelle is a member of the Social Audit Network which reaches more than 1500 members involved in the community sector throughout the UK and around the world.
The theme of the SAN conference is that organisations should account for what they do and be accountable to their stakeholders. Such accounting should report on performance (what they did) and impact (their effect on people, planet and the local economy).
Marcelle will address the conference on ‘Triple bottom- lining in Queensland’. She will contribute to a workshop with social auditors from Nepal and Germany.
Marcelle says that when social accounting is working efficiently, “it leads to well thought out action, rather than the more usual guessing and hit and miss approach”. The one day conference is being held at Blackburne House in Liverpool on Friday November 13.
