Dawn Fraser started her new ambassadorial role for Live Life Villages by planting a Queensland Bottle Tree on the site of a new residential facility in Palm Street, Maleny recently.
Dawn, known to people the world over as Australia’s most successful and highly respected Olympian, moved recently to live on the Sunshine Coast and has taken up her role of ambassador for Live Life Villages which owns and operates retirement villages in south-east Queensland.
Dawn will be involved in a range of activities and events that promote positive and active ageing within the community as well as being a spokesperson for Live Life Villages.
These activities will include representing the company at forums, conferences and media engagements, encouraging active participation by older people in communities, promoting healthy and active ageing messages.
The Maleny retirement village will maximise the benefits of independent living and will be opened in 2010.
