The month of June was very wet. It is the third month in succession this year to exceed the 117 year average. So far this year the annual total rainfall is 53 mm above average. There is no doubt rain on the Hinterland watershed played a useful part in helping to fill dams to capacity. Early in the month our weather pattern was dominated by an extensive high with a centre of 1038hPa and covering the whole of Australia. This brought counter-clockwise winds and stream showers on to the Ranges. Mid-month the high slowly moved into the north Tasman Sea and became associated with an upper level trough. This brought several days of continuous rain, saturated the ground and many creeks ran at full spate.
