Eclipses in Cancer and Capricorn
July brings eclipses this year - a total solar eclipse (not visible here) on 22 July and unusually, two lunar eclipses - one on 7 July and the second on 6 August. It is rare to get two lunar eclipses falling so close together, and although neither will be visible here, it is always worth checking your birth chart as any eclipse can bring changes to the part of your chart that it contacts.
The lunar eclipse on 7 July is the Full Moon in Capricorn, exact at 7.23pm at 15 degrees Capricorn. Whatever you have been working towards or planning for a long time is now likely to come to fruition. Wherever the lunar eclipse falls in your chart, this is the area of life where you are likely to experience changes, and issues are likely to be brought into sharper focus now. If your birthday is around 6 Jan, or you have personal planets at this point, you are likely to be strongly affected by this eclipse.
The solar eclipse on 22 July is the New Moon in Cancer, exact at 12.36pm at 29 degrees Cancer. This is an unusual eclipse for two reasons - it’s unusually long, lasting over six and a half minutes which means it is likely to have a strong astrological effect, and it is the second New Moon to fall in Cancer in a month, emphasizing the beginning of a new phase in our relationship with home, family and our past. Wherever this point falls in your chart, this is the area of life where you are likely to experience changes - possibly quite strong changes given the nature of this eclipse. If your birthday is close to this date, be aware of the energies around you - you are likely to be experiencing significant shifts in your life, particularly with regard to your sense of who you are.
Eclipses demand respect, so everyone, take extra care and don’t take any unnecessary risks, especially in the weeks leading up to the eclipses.
