The Maleny Community Gym has been given a much needed boost of $18,000 from the state’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
The Gym which recently moved to the Pavilion at the Maleny Showgrounds, has also received support from the IGA’s Community Benefit Fund for an exercise carpet.
Secretary of the Gym committee, June Godkin said the $18,000 cash injection would be used to buy a dual stack pulley, a chin dip and a new treadmill. June thanks all the gym supporters who wrote letters to enhance the application to the Benefit Fund.
After more than 11 years, membership of The Maleny Gym has reached more than 220 including many casuals working out every week.
