Queensland’s Ambulance Services Commissioner, David Melville, has given the go-ahead for CPR trainee workshops to be conducted in the Hinterland region through the Maleny and District Local Ambulance Committee (LAC).
Jim Carseldine, President of the Maleny LAC said they were looking for CPR trainers so that classes could be offered to the community on the Range.
The trainers would be co-ordinated by Glenys Pearson who is a qualified peer trainer in CPR. Jim says likely trainees could be active or retired nurses, health workers and SES and firies. Groups attracted to the regular classes might include scouts, sporting and social groups, mums, dads and anyone in the community wishing to be trained in the use of CPR.
Cost of the two hour training sessions will be covered by a $2 donation which is great value for people receiving qualified training in CPR . Trainees would also be covered by insurance because they will become members of a sub committee of the LAC.
You never know when you might need to given cardio pulmonary resuscitation so, if you’re interested in becoming a CPR trainer, please contact Jim Carseldine: 5494 3272 or email: jimcarseldine@bigpond.com
