Graham Ellis offering expert garden advice every weekend

Le Jardin Garden Centre in Flaxton (next door to the French Restaurant) offers local gardeners and visitors a superb array of native and exotic plants, as well as a wealth of garden expertise from Montville local, ABC Garden Guru – Graham Ellis.
Graham has four decades of horticultural experience including owning/managing 13 nurseries and writing for 11 newspapers. Many will know him from his various radio and TV segments including his Garden Guru spot on ABC’s Coast FM, and regular TV appearances on Queensland Today, The Mike Walsh Show and even as far back as Simon Townsend’s Wonderworld!
Graham has worked with the likes of Don Burke, Colin Campbell and is considered one of Australia’s most knowledgeable horticulturalists.
“The hinterland is an idyllic home for keen gardeners,” said Graham, “and a trip to ‘Le Jardin’ in Flaxton will be well worthwhile. We stock an interesting array of herbs, cottage plants, natives, seedlings and flowering gems in an inspiring 1/2 acre nursery where every turn will lead you to something special.
”There is also a range of interesting pots and accessories and a unique gift shop with garden and home accessories with French flair!”
“I remember when nurseries offered old-fashioned service and advice while tempting you with strong, healthy plants – well, we offer all that – with the added bonus of a delightful French Tearoom serving pastries and light lunches, outstanding coffee and teas. Come and say hello!”

NEW ARRIVALS
This month at the Garden Centre sees the arrival of new Euphorbia Diamond Frost – covered with snowy white diamonds of colour all year round. Diamond frost only grows to 1 metre and loves hot dry situations, and is also great in pots and hanging baskets – it is a totally waterwise, ‘must-have’ plant.
Also looking good is Tibouchina ‘Jazzie’. Covered in vibrant purple flowers for a large part of the year. Jazzies only grow to about 2 metres and are perfect for a sunny spot where long lasting colour is required.

Chat to Graham Ellis at Le Jardin Garden Centre, weekends from 11am. The Garden Centre is open Thursday to Sunday at 340 Flaxton Drive, Flaxton from 9am. Phone 5445 7077.
