Colourful Range character and Mapleton resident Mick Davis passed away recently at the age of 91. Mick had served in New Guinea during World War II and was wounded in Lae.
After repatriation and recovery Mick returned to working on the land. He and his wife settled in Mapleton in 1971 where Mick was a well known farrier.
Mick Davis’ passion remained up until his death – stock horses, cattle and working dogs. Mick was featured on the cover of the Hinterland Times following ANZAC Day in May 2008.
