The Independence of Miss Mary Bennett
Author: Colleen McCullough

Colleen McCullough revisits the beloved characters from Pride and Prejudice, with the story beginning twenty years after we leave the Bennet family. Each of the five daughters  found her place in society, except for Mary,  the tone-deaf middle daughter who stayed behind to nurse the ailing matriarch. After Mrs Bennet passes away Mary is freed from family obligations and, fired up by the newspaper letters of a mystery man  she embarks on a mission to write a book.  She sets out to travel the country to gather ammunition for her book and inadvertently places herself in danger. Marriage is the last thing on her mind – until she crosses paths with the mysterious letter-writer.

The House at Salvation Creek
Author:  Susan Duncan
For those of you who have read Salvation Creek, Susan Duncan has written a wonderful sequel.  The House at Salvation Creek follows Susan and Bob’s life when they move into Bob’s house” Tarrangaua”, originally built for the Australian poet Dorothea Mackellar.
With trademark warmth and wit, we are drawn into life on Pittwater Bay and the lives of its characters. Like Salvation Creek, Susan has also included more cooking tips and recipes from the idyllic life she and Bob share. The House at Salvation Creek is a funny and moving reminder of what matters to us in life and how to disregard what doesn’t, embracing challenges and looking outside the “square”.

Inkdeath
Author: Cornelia Funke
In the exciting conclusion to Cornelia Funke’s trilogy, which began with Inkheart and Inkspell, readers are reunited with Meggie and her father, Mo, a bookbinder who brings characters to life out of the books he reads. In this final adventure Meggie and Mo are trapped in Inkworld and their only hope for return to the real world is to rewrite past wrongs and make a dangerous deal with death.
