Linsey Pollak Passes Wind

Entertainment, Performance

It seems Range folk can’t get enough of Linsey Pollak. Following has last show in Maleny, Linsey is bringing his new show to Maleny in what promises to be a fabulously entertaining evening. It starts with a sumptuous dinner followed by Linsey’s aptly named show, Passing Wind.

This new solo show is a whimsical look at how wind instruments are made and played using very unexpected materials. Living up to his wacky reputation, Linsey makes membrane reeds from balloons and rubber gloves, gradually developing them into the Foonki as well as Australia’s own kitchen glove bagpipe.

From panpipes to irrigation pipe, harmonic flutes to feather dusters, watering cans to carrot clarinets, and of course Mr Curly (a contra-bass clarinet made from garden hose), the audience will delight in watching these instruments come to life as they watch.
But be warned, Linsey might be calling for a little help from willing participants.

Passing Wind is on at the Maleny Community Centre on Friday November 21. Doors open 6.30pm for dinner. Show starts 7.30pm

A bargain at $20 (kids $15) for dinner and show. Limited tickets @ $10 or $5 for kids will be available for the show only. Kids under 5 are free (show only). Early bookings strongly advised. Phone Fatima 5494 3755.
