Current Australian statistics indicate that women are choosing to conceive at around 30 years of age. These women are intimately aware that there is less room for conceptual errors and so are increasingly attentive, presenting to clinics and opting for pre-conceptual care. One in seven couples experience difficulty conceiving with approximately 50% of this concern due to male infertility. Many men have extensive oxidative damage from vocational, environmental and endogenous toxins and so must improve the viability of their sperm through pre-conceptual preparation
Of significant concern in our modern world, is that over 280 toxins have been found in foetal tissue. This means that these toxins are crossing the placental barrier within the mother. Only 30 years ago that count was approximately 40 toxins. How toxic we have become in such a short time. If we take measures to reduce the maternal body burden prior to conception, post conception exposure will be the dominant issue, simplifying preventative worries over toxic exposure during gestation. This promotes an optimal pregnancy and reduces immunological risk. Educating the mother-to-be in both tailored nutrition and detoxification procedures, prior to conception, makes perfect sense.
Some toxic exposure to the foetus originates from the mother’s own stress hormones. Alarmingly, stress during pregnancy inhibits the child’s future capacity to cope with their own stress for up to 10 yrs after birth, a significant difference to children born to mothers whose pregnancy had been stress free.
The medical journal “…….” points out that the level of toxic exposure taking place both pre-conceptually and after conception in our modern world, demands that we apply some sort of preventative intervention. Neglect potentially alters immune system responses, not for a few months, but for life. Investing in the earliest stages of your child’s life, genuinely gives you, your child, and your child’s children the best return possible.
