Even the name takes you back in time – The Blackall Range Horseless Carriage Club. If you love old cars then you’ll enjoy the gathering of horseless carriages on the Range over the weekend of 9-10 August for the 2008 Montville Country Rally.

44 cars from as far afield as Moura, Biloela and Alstonville (NSW) will congregate at the Blackall Range Care Cottage to enjoy the Club’s major biennial rally. Tyre kickers are frowned upon at this reverence for classic marques from England, the US, Italy and Germany. Special vehicles on show will range from a 1014 Overland 79T and 1927 Erskine to more modern cars of the 1970s.

After a full day of driving over a prepared route, the Grand Dinner on the Saturday night will be at the Mapleton Bowling Club where prizes and presentations will be awarded. On Sunday the Rally will travel off the Range, finishing up with a BBQ lunch at Cormorant Bay on Somerset Dam before participants head home. Profits from the Rally will benefit the Blackall Range Care Cottage at Flaxton.
